Collection of Information
- Information We Collect Automatically. In addition to any Personally Identifiable Information or other information that you choose to submit to the Covered Sites, we and our third-party service providers (including any third-party content, advertising, and analytics providers) may use a variety of technologies that automatically or passively collect certain information about your use of the Covered Sites whenever you visit or interact with the Covered Sites ("Usage Information"). Usage Information may include the referring page that linked you to us (e.g., another web site or a search engine); the pages you visit on our Covered Sites, the web sites you visit after the Covered Site; the ads you see; the ads you click on; other information about the type of web browser, computer, platform, related software and settings you are using; any search terms you have entered on this web site or a referral site; and other web usage activity and data logged by our web servers. Usage Information also includes the IP address or other unique identifier (“Device Identifier”) for any computer, mobile phone, or other device used to access the Covered Site. A Device Identifier is a number that is automatically assigned to your device and our servers identify your device by its Device Identifier. We may use Usage Information for a variety of purposes, including enhancing or otherwise improving the Covered Sites and our products and services. The Usage Information we collect is typically non-identifying, but if we associate it with you as a specific and identifiable person, we treat it as Personally Identifiable Information. As described in more detail below, some of our third party partners (including advertisers and marketing services companies) may set and access cookies and similar technologies on your computer as well, or we may do so on their behalf. - GIFs. We may use “clear GIFs” (aka “web beacons” or “pixel tags”) or similar technologies, on the Covered Sites and in our communications with you to enable us to know whether you have visited a web page or received a message. A clear GIF is typically a one-pixel, transparent image (although it can be a visible image as well), located on a web page or in an e-mail or other type of message, which is retrieved from a remote site on the Internet enabling the verification of an individual’s viewing or receipt of a web page or message. A clear gif may enable us to relate your viewing or receipt of a web page or message to other information about you, including your Personally Identifiable Information.
- How We Respond to “Do Not Track” Signals. Please note that your browser settings may allow you to automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” signal to websites and online services that you visit. There is no consensus among industry participants as to what “Do Not Track” means in this context. Like many websites and online services, Company does not alter its practices when it receives a “Do Not Track” signal from a visitor’s browser. Use of Information
Disclosure of Your Information
We may share information we collect about you, including Personally Identifiable Information, with third parties. If you would like to opt-out from sharing of your Personally Identifiable Information with third parties for their marketing purposes, you may opt-out by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please use “Opt-Out” in the subject of your email and provide your full name and the email address(es) associated with your account on the Covered Sites so that we can process your request. Note that even if you opt-out, we will still share non-Personally Identifiable Information in our discretion and your Personally Identifiable Information with your consent, and in the following situations:
Service Providers. We utilize third party service providers to provide products, services or functions on our behalf (such as sending emails or processing payment) and may share Personally Identifiable Information with such services providers so that they may complete a requested transaction or otherwise to perform these services.
- When You Request That We Share Your Information. You may request that we share your information with third parties in a variety of circumstances, such as when you elect to receive information and marketing offers or in the course of using a specific feature or service (for example, when you make a purchase through the Covered Sites with a third party e-commerce partner). You also may also request that we share information about you with a third party through your use of Social Networking Features, third party applications, and similar features.
Sweepstakes, Contests & Promotions. We may offer sweepstakes, contests, and other promotions (any, a "Promotion") that may require registration. By participating in a Promotion, you are agreeing to the official rules that govern that Promotion, which may contain specific requirements of you, including, except where prohibited by law, allowing the sponsor(s) of the Promotion to use your name, voice, likeness or other indicia of persona in advertising or marketing associated with the Promotion. If you choose to enter a Promotion, your Personally Identifiable Information may be disclosed to third parties or the public in connection with the administration of such Promotion, including, without limitation, in connection with winner selection, prize fulfillment, and as required by law or permitted by the Promotion's official rules, such as on a winners list.
Third-Party Analytics Providers, Ad Servers & Similar Third Parties
Company works with (or may in the future work with) network advertisers, ad agencies, analytics service providers and other vendors to provide us with information regarding traffic on the Covered Sites (including pages viewed and the actions taken when visiting the Covered Sites); to serve advertisements on the Covered Sites or to serve our advertisements elsewhere online; and to provide us with information regarding the use of the Covered Sites and the effectiveness of our advertisements. For example, if you click on an advertisement for a Company product, our service provider(s) may be able to tell us the advertisement that you clicked on and where you were viewing the advertisement. Our service providers may collect certain information about your visits to and activity on the Covered Sites and other websites and services and may use this information to target advertising to you.
These service providers may set and access their own tracking technologies on your device (including cookies and GIFs) and may otherwise collect or have access to information about you. Some of these parties may collect Personally Identifiable Information over time when you visit the Covered Sites or other online websites and services. Cookies and GIFs, including those set by third-party network advertisers, may be used to (among other things): target advertisements, prevent you from seeing the same advertisements too many times, and conduct research regarding the usefulness of certain advertisements to you. We may share Usage Information about visitors with third-party advertising companies, analytics providers and other vendors for similar purposes.
While we may use a variety of service providers to perform advertising services, some of these companies are members of the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI”) or the Digital Advertising Alliance ("DAA") Self-Regulatory Program for Online Behavioral Advertising. Please note that these companies may still collect information when you are online and opting out through these mechanisms does not opt you out of being served advertising. You will continue to be served generic ads while online.
Right to Opt-out
Mobile. We may provide you messages, including marketing, via your wireless email-to-text address or by short-message or multimedia-message service (“SMS Service”),as described below. You may opt-out of these messages from us by replying “STOP” or following the instructions provided in the message. In addition, digital applications may provide you alerts and you can change your preferences regarding these alerts through your device settings.
Marketing emails provided by Company. From time to time we may send you promotional emails on behalf of Company or third parties. If you want us to stop sending you promotional emails, you may follow the unsubscribe instructions in the email. Please note that we reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to your account, your use of the Covered Sites, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law, and these transactional account messages and other non-commercial messages may not be affected by your choice to opt out from commercial communications.
Security of Your Personally Identifiable Information
We may require you to enter a password to access your account. Please do not disclose your registration password to unauthorized people. You are responsible for all access to and use of your account, whether or not authorized.
We use a variety of commercially reasonable security technologies and procedures to help protect your Personally Identifiable Information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while Company uses reasonable efforts to protect your Personally Identifiable Information, Company cannot guarantee its security. You use the Covered Sites and provide us with information on your own initiative and at your own risk.
Third-Party Content & Links to Other Sites
Certain content on the Covered Sites may be hosted and served by third parties. For example, some of our Covered Sites may from time to time partner with a retailer or other third party to offer online shopping opportunities and other features on a co-branded or cross-promotional basis. In addition, the Site may contain links to third-party websites that we do not control. Company is not responsible for the privacy practices employed by any third party.
Kids And Parents
The Covered Sites are not intended for use by children younger than age 13 and the Covered Sites do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal information from anyone younger than the age of 13, we will delete that information from our active databases.
Non-U.S. Users: Consent to Transfer
If you are located outside of the United States, please note that the information you provide to us will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where laws regarding processing of Personally Identifiable Information may be less stringent than the laws in your country. By using this Covered Site, you consent to this transfer and processing.
